Trump, Hillary Scaring People Towards Third Parties

At least that’s what The Hill says:

“The fact that we have two major party candidates who are enormously disliked by the electorate, enormously and equally disliked, creates the opportunity for the minor party candidates to do better than they would in other presidential elections,” said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

So far, neither of the top third-party candidates have broken double digits in the RCP polling averages, but it’s still July (for at least a few more hours) and most non-political-wonks don’t really start paying attention to politics till after Labor Day. I expect that after they do start paying attention the third-party share of the vote will go up.
